Lincoln-Way East showed it is resilient before running into a team that is simply dominant.

The Griffins experienced one last major high in an up-and-down season by pulling out a thrilling 66-60 double overtime win over Andrew in a Class 4A Lincoln-Way East Regional semifinal March 4.

East then saw its season come to an end as it was overmatched in a 67-39 loss to a powerful Thornton team in the regional final Friday, March 6.

The Wildcats, ranked No. 3 in the state by the Associated Press, improved to 31-1, while the Griffins finished 17-12.
